John Cornyn supports the troop surge in Iraq and increased benefits to veterans. He supports alternative fuels and clean energy sources but is opposed to "unilateral" government requirements for energy. He wants to give tax incentives to businesses and individuals who use alternative energy sources. He seeks to reform No Child Left Behind and give Texas greater control over its schools than the federal government. He supports more federal funding for higher education in the form of grants and loans. Cornyn favors decreased government regulations on the economy and health care. He also supports "comprehensive immigration reform." |

Schick seeks greater border protection as an end to illegal immigration. |
